Our History: A Love of the Lessons That Horses Teach Us
- Jennifer Swanson grew up in Colorado and started her journey with the Morgan Horse at age 7, which led her parents to the purchase of a mountain farm and several Morgans to go on it. Along with the love of the breed, the love of competing with them in the show ring grew strong, and Jennifer has now been active in the Morgan industry for over 40 years winning local, regional, and world championships at the Grand National and World Championship Morgan Horse Show in Hunt Seat, Western, Saddle Seat, Equitation, and Dressage classes. Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Equine Science from Cal Poly Pomona, home of the famed Kellogg Arabians, where she also competed on the California Arabian circuit as part of the horse show team.
- Along with husband Greg and daughter Anna, Solstice Stables was the foundation of the business for many years, but as life events happened we all decided we needed a change more reflective of our passions and the concept of Dream Ridge Morgans was formed.
- Dream Ridge Morgans is the result of combining both Jennifer's and Anna's special geldings, GTR Dreamweaver and Highland Ridge Arturo. Our barn colors are also represented in this name with cream honoring Dreamweaver's flaxen tail, black for Louie's color, and purple to honor the memory of the best horse show mom and grandma, Jan Bloss's favorite color.
Riding Lessons: the Art of Equitation
Many programs focus on group lessons, and if they do offer private lessons, these lessons are often time bound and barely teach basic riding skills. Jennifer's focus is on building the bond between horse and rider, sharing what lessons can be learned at a specific moment in time, and how to build trust while becoming a horse and rider team, all while improving the equitation skills, and building confidence of riders of all experience levels. You will learn how to ride a horse, not just sit on a horse.
Whether you're a beginner or an advanced rider, she can help you achieve your riding goals and have fun doing it!

Training: Training You to Train Your Horse
Jennifer brings her years of experience to each individual situation and training programs are built around the needs of each individual horse and owner. "Training you to train your horse" has been Jennifer's focus as she works with horse owners to achieve their desired goals; whether thats simply enjoying their horse on the trail or competing at the top level of their discipline. Building a team between rider and horse with an emphasis on long standing horsemanship skills is fundamental to training.
